Next milestone for the LeopoldQuartier

Next milestone in Europe's first urban quarter in timber-hybrid construction - the LeopoldQuartier in Vienna: The topping-out ceremony for the Office component has now been celebrated together.

A special moment for the client UBM Development, the general contractor PORR Group and especially for us at pde. Because we are contributing our combined expertise from a total of five specialist areas to the entire green lighthouse project.

Our timber construction team designed and optimized the timber structures, developed detailed solutions for dismantling and ensured efficient detailed statics. Harald Hobacher and his team were also responsible for coordinating assembly, tendering, awarding contracts and quality control.

We also set standards in the area of sustainability. The demolition of the existing properties has already been certified with DGNB Gold. Katrin Kuenzler's team is now aiming for ÖGNI Gold certification for each of the new buildings - with a clear focus on deconstructability.

Our structural design experts, led by Wolfgang Wallisch, developed the overall structural analysis, taking into account the specific requirements of the timber hybrid construction method.

At the same time, our LEAN managers led by Thomas Baierl ensure that all processes in the areas of design, construction and logistics are waste-free, lean and efficient. The team led by Herbert Meister took care of smooth logistics, crane planning on the construction site and the construction schedule.

We are proud to contribute our expertise to this visionary project from a single source and are already looking forward to the next milestones until completion in spring 2026.
