We live BIM - for the construction projects of the future

Generate 3D models from point clouds. Walk through virtual construction sites together. And project a tunnel into space. New technologies open up new possibilities for the whole of our customers.

Where is the future heading? More and more point clouds are moving through the construction industry. And this is not a weather forecast. Point clouds make it possible to compare the actual condition of a building with the planning models and check the accuracy of the construction. They can also be used for billing purposes. They are usually created using laser scans or photogrammetry, in which image material - often from drones - is evaluated. The accuracy is impressive and enables precise measurements directly within the point clouds.

New methods of point cloud technology, such as NeRFs and Gaussian splats, currently capture spaces somewhat less accurately, but speed up the creation process considerably. Soon, even short cell phone videos could be enough to quickly compare a planning model with reality.

Virtual reality
A few years ago, bringing construction models into virtual reality, or VR for short, was a major technical and financial undertaking. Today, it is much less complicated and less expensive. Inexpensive VR goggles and user-friendly apps load models directly into the goggles - without the need for an additional computer. Teams at different locations move through the model together in real time. They communicate via the headsets' integrated microphones and loudspeakers. Identified problem areas can be saved in the model in standard file formats and checked later. Virtual site inspections have developed considerably. Thanks to inexpensive hardware and powerful software, they can be used at any time and make collaboration in VR a real pleasure for almost all users.

Augmented reality
Imagine you could project a 3D model of a building or tunnel into the room right in front of your eyes, rotate it with your hands, scale it and take it apart. What's more, other people in the room could also see this model and work on it interactively with you. You can experience this for yourself. Visit us in Vienna and experience in our VR room how a model appears when you put on the glasses. And suddenly disappears when you take them off. Almost like magic.
